HiPPIE DocumentationNOTE: This documentation is not nearly complete yet, and won't be before the actual release of HiPPIE. I just wanted to go ahead and start getting this together before release so that it's available at that point. I'll knock this out as quickly as possible. HiPPIE Core Installation So you have decided you want to deploy HiPPIE, huh? Wonderful. Below you will find the steps needed to start deploying your HiPPIE system. Steps to Installing HiPPIE:
So now what? Now what does HiPPIE do? Well, first of all, make sure that you have enabled HiPPIE on the interfaces that you're trying to track. Once you have, check out the various proc interfaces built into HiPPIE in order to start getting useful information out of HiPPIE. You can either take these numbers from proc and feed them into something like cacti, or build something else to keep track of these stats and maybe make some graphs. I have a PHP/Perl/RRDTool based tool for tracking and graphing statistics from a HiPPIE system, but I need to reimplement portions of it before it's ready for use elsewhere. If you're looking for more information or any other help beyond this, you might consider signing up for a mailing list and asking! As time goes on, I'll continue to add more documentation and FAQ type stuff to this page. Hopefully what I have here so far is helpful.
